Chronic bronchitis results from constant irritation of the lungs due to exposure to cigarette smoke and other air pollutants. In chronic bronchitis there is diminished air exchange in the lung and this can cause pulmonary hypertension and eventually heart failure.

Symptoms: increased mucous production, cough, chest pain, fever, fatigue and difficulty breathing.

Who to consult: Allergist, dietician, GP, herbalist, homoeopath, naturopath, otolaryngologist, physical therapist.
