A peek inside the life of evolutionary astrologist Flowers for Dais
We chat to evolutionary astrologist Daisy Clementine Douglas about ambition, success and her go-to daily rituals.

Home is …

My body, my heart, my mind! But in the more practical sense, home is a space that feels safe, nurturing, sacred and, most importantly, clean (on all levels). I am a Virgo, after all. My home is my temple, especially my bed. It is where I go to wind down from the day and retreat from the intensity of this world. Right now, my home is in Berlin and I absolutely love how dynamic and powerful the city is. I feel very grateful to have a peaceful, light home environment to contrast the depth and grunginess of the city. I love to dip between the two worlds.

I start my day with …

I always start my morning with a reprogramming meditation from To Be Magnetic by Lacy Phillips. These meditations help to rewire the neural pathways in the brain so that you can heal your self-worth and subconscious by releasing deeply ingrained limiting beliefs. I reprogram anything that has triggered me during the week: insecurities, fears, judgments, shadow qualities.

Sometimes I will reprogram something that came up in my dream time. This practice has completely changed my life. Following a reprogramming, I will do a tapping practice to reinforce whatever belief I am trying to release, as well as program in new beliefs and empowering affirmations. I do three minutes of abundance affirmations to put myself in an abundant state for the day moving forward. I then follow my morning reprogramming with a cardio workout to get energy flowing and endorphins pumping.

My workspace looks like …

I work a lot from home. As a Virgo I can be prone to focusing too much on the practical to-dos and forget the more gentle, nurturing aspects of my workspace — which always ultimately leads to some kind of burnout. Last year, I practised setting healthier boundaries around my work by giving myself more breaks. I love to prepare a herbal tea infusion to drink while giving sessions or working, diffusing beautiful essential oils and cuddling my puppy.

On work/life balance …

I learnt very quickly that burnouts can hit you out of nowhere! It’s like one moment you are on top of things and then the next moment you’ve hit a wall but still have all of these commitments and deadlines to fulfil. It is so important to plan ahead and use discipline to give yourself enough rest and recover time. Even if, in the moment, you don’t think you need that break, you will thank yourself later in the day, week or even month. I have days where I strictly dedicate time to fun and play, otherwise I feel resentment creeping in. I’ve also had to put strict boundaries around how many readings I give per day or week. This has really helped me regulate my energy, as well as generating even more abundance for my business (the universe rewards healthy choices).

It is important to have hobbies and things that you love that are separate to your work where you can just get lost in the process of art, creativity and learning. In my case, my happy place is to listen to lectures from my favourite astrologers. Something new I’ve started doing is learning how to DJ, which is such fun!

On ambition …

I always knew that I wanted to do something niche and I never wanted to be a part of a corporate system. Not that I judge that — some people love their corporate jobs and I think that is wonderful, but we all have our own unique gifts whether they blossom in the corporate world or not. From a young age, I was surrounded by spiritual teachings, especially from my mother. In my mid-to-late teens astrology found me through one of my best friends and I became completely fascinated and enthralled. Astrology is something I want to learn, live and breathe for the rest of my life. When I committed fully to starting my astrology business in 2018, the universe supported the rapid growth of my business because I was committing to something that was authentic and genuine to my being. I believe that when we are in alignment with our truth, abundance flows naturally.

On collaboration …

It is so exciting! The thing with astrology is that you can pretty much collaborate in any and every area. There are endless opportunities, whether it be from fashion to luxury to self-care to food. Astrology is the study of life and I am so excited to have special collaborations coming out in the future. When it comes to working with others, there needs to be shared vision and natural flow. If things feel messy and you are struggling to speak your truth, then be prepared for the universe to deliver some stern lessons.

On success …

Success for me is the ability to reach many people with astrology. To help transform their lives by supporting them to honour their authentic gifts and remove anything from their life that is not in alignment with their truth. I believe the key to a happy, fulfilling and abundant life is honouring your authenticity (which is reflected in the birth-chart).

On travelling …

Travelling has been a huge part of my life since I finished high school. I have been living out of suitcases around the world for many years. It was only this year that I decided to settle and put my roots down and it feels so good. I spent a lot of time in Bali during my childhood; Ubud really nurtured my spiritual growth as a young adult. Since I was born, I have always felt deeply connected to Italy. I believe I’ve lived many past lives there.

From a young age, I would tell my mum that I wasn’t meant to be in Australia and as soon as I could I flew off and made my way towards Europe. Italy will always have my heart. In 2019, I travelled to nine different countries in Europe and all over California to conduct astrology workshops, which was wonderful. That was also the plan for 2020 but the pandemic changed that, which, ultimately, I am grateful for as it has allowed me to really root myself here in Berlin. In the future I look forward to holding some magical retreats around the world.

What I do to blow off steam …

Dance! Dance is such a huge part of my life and dancing is one of my favourite ways to move energy, feel good and even be silly when I want to be. Music is also another incredible way to quickly change your energetic state of being and transmute emotion.

My night-time ritual …

I love drinking magnesium before bed and will always have some CBD oil handy if I am struggling to fall asleep. Showers are my favourite way to wash off the day and I love going to bed feeling physically and energetically clean. My skin-care routine is one of my favourite ways to really nurture and love my physical vessel. I love a good topical vitamin C in the morning and vitamin A in the evening.
