What are the top 10 foods to eat for happy hormones?

  • Lots of filtered water
  • Omega-rich foods such as sustainably sourced oily fish such as sardines, anchovies, cod, herring or trout
  • Dark leafy greens
  • Cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower, kale and broccoli
  • Seed grains (pseudograin) such as quinoa and buckwheat
  • Seeds such as flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds (soaked and/or ground)
  • Avocado
  • Raw cacao
  • Activated nuts

Nourish Bowl

Serves: 1

Ingredients 

1 cup buckwheat hulls
2 cups plant mylk
4 tsp Organic Merchant Dust infusion
2 tbsp chia or flaxseeds
½ cup fruit such as currants or raisins (optional)

Topping ideas

Grated apple with cinnamon
Fresh figs with honey & walnuts
Poached pears with vanilla
Pomegranate jewels & pistachios

Method

Combine ingredients into a bowl and soak overnight to soften the hulls and seeds.

Once soaked, transfer to a saucepan and cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes or until thick and creamy. Add more mylk or water if needed.

Serve into bowls topped with your choice of suggestions.

Cacao Pancakes

Serves: 2

Ingredients: 

1 cup buckwheat flour
4 heaped tsp Organic Merchant Dust of choice
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
1-1.5L cups milk of choice

Method: 

In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and stir well.

Whisk in milk to create a batter.

Set stove top to medium and add butter/coconut oil.

Gently pour ⅓ cup of batter into pan using ladle/large spoon to create pancakes roughly the size of an orange.

Flip pancakes over once bubbles have risen on the surface.

Stack cooked pancakes on wire rack or plate and continue until batter is finished.
