Why is it important for a Natural Therapist to become a member of an association

It is important to become a member of an association to be recognised as a legitimate, qualified practitioner within the unregistered healthcare industry. It is also important for practitioners who are eligible for registration with Health Funds, as the association applies for health fund provider recognition on behalf of the practitioner. Additionally, professional indemnity insurance premiums for practitioners are significantly reduced as the risk is mitigated by the Association vetting the qualifications of the practitioner.

How do I know if I am eligible to become a member of ANTA

To determine if you are eligible to become a Member of ANTA, you would need to check our Recognised Course List on our website; please see the link:

Natural Therapy Courses | Australian Natural Therapists Association

Alternatively, you can email or call ANTA and advise the modality and college, and ANTA staff will be able to advise your eligibility.

What is ANTA’s course assessment process?

ANTA is committed to quality assurance and public safety, which is why we thoroughly assess natural therapy courses before approving them to be a part of our membership criteria. We work through a comprehensive three-level review process for every course. Assessing each course for free allows us to maintain exceptional standards, which ensures that our natural therapists are providing first-rate healthcare in the safest way possible. If the course passes our assessment, we will include it on our recognised course list, providing free promotion of your course.

If your Recognised Training Organisation (RTO) is not already an ANTA-approved RTO, then please get the course coordinator to submit a course assessment via our website. If approved, you and other students will be eligible to join ANTA.

What career pathways could I consider after completing an ANTA recognised course?

There are many career pathways graduates can take after completing an ANTA recognised course. The most common pathway after graduation is entering clinical practice, whether it be in your own business or working as an employee. This career pathway provides the necessary steps to help those in need. Another career pathway is becoming a researcher in your field of study. This pathway can further develop your understanding of the science of the body and how certain natural therapy techniques or nutraceuticals can help improve the health of people. Another career pathway is to become a teacher in your field of study to further teach and foster the knowledge and skills of new students enrolled.

There are so many other career pathways natural therapists can choose once they have completed their course, the world is your oyster!
