Our Real Life Experience feature showcases first-person essays from individuals who have embraced natural and holistic approaches to elevate their health and wellbeing. By sharing your story, you become part of a supportive community that uplifts, educates and empowers others on their own journey to vibrant living. Submission guidelines
The WellBeing editorial team is looking for engaging and authentic voices from our community sharing powerful first-person essays. Your story should reflect on a personal challenge and offer insights to our readers on the steps you took towards healing – whether through therapies, lifestyle changes, nutrition or alternative treatments.
- A first-person essay 800–1500 words in length
- Submissions must be original and not previously published
- Please include relevant details while avoiding unsupported medical claims
- WellBeing reserves the right to edit submissions in line with our editorial style guide for clarity and tone
How to submit
- Please email your submission as a Word document to kduncan@umco.com.au
- Include a short author’s bio telling us a bit about yourself (120 words or less) with links to any website and social media accounts you want to share.
- We know your story is personal, so it is optional for you to attach a headshot or photo of yourself that we can use if your story is published online. Images should be high-resolution JPEGs.
Publication timing
While we’re always excited to receive your stories, WellBeing works with long lead times, and publication depends on editorial balance and space availability. We appreciate your patience and passion.
Publishing Release
When submitting your Real Life Experience to the WellBeing team through any channel, you confirm that it is your own original and unpublished work. In doing so, you consent to WellBeing publishing your essay and any images and social media details supplied in WellBeing magazine and/or on our digital and social media platforms. If your submission is chosen, you will be provided with a release form to sign or you may be notified before or after publication.
