Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp good-quality tomato sauce or chutney
  • ¼ cup tamari
  • 2 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp lemongrass paste
  • 3 tbsp avocado or olive oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cracked pepper
  • 1.2kg pack frozen chicken wings

Method

  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Place all ingredients except for the chicken wings in a large bowl and mix well.
  • Add the chicken wings to the marinade and rub it into the wings.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper (trust me, you do not want to have to scrub that tray afterwards) and lay the wings out in a single layer.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 35-40 mins or until cooked through, dark and sticky.
  • Tip: To defrost the wings quickly without using a microwave, place the unopened pack in your sink and cover it with cold water. They’ll defrost in a third of the time.
