Acute disseminated encephalopmyelitis

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis is characterised by inflammation of the brain and spinal cord caused by damage to the myelin sheath.

Causes: viral and bacterial infection, vaccination.

Symptoms: headaches, delirium, lethargy coma, seizures, stiff neck, fever, transverse myelitis, ataxia, vomiting and weight loss.

Who to consult: dietician, GP, herbalist, homoeopath, immunologist, naturopath, neurologist.
