Bedsores

Bedsores result from when pressure is exerted over areas of the body for too long, restricting circulation and leading to the ulceration of tissue. This is most commonly experienced in the hips, sacrum, heels and buttocks. Bedsores tend to occur after periods of prolonged bed rest and the first indication is usually an area of skin that is red or has localised, that is unrelieved after the removal of all pressure.
