Chateau Elan at the Vintage is located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, NSW, in Pokolbin. The spa overlooks a prestigious golf course and is surrounded by vineyards, making for a very tranquil, green and luscious surrounding.

The experience

Situated in a luxurious resort named Chateau Elan at The Vintage, spa guests can stay overnight in one of our spa suits or villas. The property boasts accommodation, a swimming pool, tennis court, golf course, golf clubhouse, conference facilities, cafe/restaurant and wine lounge.

The spa itself, which is situated in the resort main building, consists of 17 treatment rooms and three lounge spaces: the Sante Lounge, an intimate area with a fireplace; The Reflection Lounge, a larger space created for groups or individuals to relax and unwind prior to treatment; and The Hydro Lounge, an indoor/outdoor space with two warm mineral spas and a detox box to rejuvenate and regenerate either before or after the treatment. There are also large bathrooms with lockers so guests can be assured that all their belongings are safe. Robes, slippers and towels for the ultimate relaxing experience are all provided.

Chateau Elan at The Vintage has four luxury room options. The main hotel complex accommodates a limited number of spa suites, designed for singles or couples who require absolute comfort, privileged spa access and total privacy. Adjacent to the main hotel complex and cascading down the hillside is a series of private villas. These enjoy an elevated position overlooking the fairway of the 10th hole, and offer three room types:

  • Spa suites provide an open-plan bedroom and stylish living space plus ensuite bathroom with spa bath
  • The one-bedroom apartments are larger, with separate bedroom, dining area and state-of-the-art kitchen for all catering needs
  • Villa studios and one-bedroom apartments can be co-joined to offer two-bedroom apartments for groups of friends or family

All rooms have balconies or terraces overlooking Vintage fairways and the views of the Hunter Valley and offer:

The treatments

The stated philosophy of Chateau Elan at The Vintage is that they believe there is benefit in bringing together spa rituals, traditional beauty treatments and education to prolong the efficacy of your treatment. They also believe in the power of togetherness and enjoyment. Your treatment rooms are given over to massage and hydrotherapy, exercise and beauty, while unique lounge areas within the spa offer places for extended relaxation, socialising and wellbeing.

A wide range of face and body treatments are provided, including relaxation massage, aromatherapy massage, hot stone massage, therapeutic massage, remedial massage, body exfoliations, body wraps, facials, advanced skin treatments such as microdermabrasion and peels, balneotherapy bath sessions, couples treatments, tanning, waxing, tinting, manicures and pedicures.

As part of their delivery of premium treatments, Chateau Elan at The Vintage uses Thalgo products as the diverse range has something to suit all skin types and conditions. Thalgo products are chosen because every ingredient is obtained from quality sources, such as rare algaes and sea minerals. Thalgo also achieves amazing textures and fragrances in its products, making it a luxurious brand where quality is uncompromised.

Chateau Elan at The Vintage also stocks Kerstin Florian body products as the essential oils and natural ingredients in this range allow the spa staff to perform amazing body rituals.

The food

Complimentary sweet treats, dried fruit, nut mix and herbal teas are provided. Guests can also order cheese and fruit platters, spa lunch platters and local vineyard sparkling wine and rosé to enjoy before or after their treatments. The Vintage cafe is only a two-minute walk from the spa should you want a meal.

Things to remember

Although lockers are provided, guests are asked not to bring valuables to the spa. All you need to bring is swimwear if you wish to use the mineral spas. Guests are asked to switch off or keep phones on silent and to keep noise to a minimum to allow for total relaxation for themselves and others experiencing treatments.

There are no extra costs other than if you wish to purchase cheese and fruit platters, spa lunch platters or alcohol. Any credit card payments incur a 1.5 per cent surcharge and there is a 24-hour cancellation policy, where 100 per cent is charged to the credit card on file for “no shows” or cancellations without 24 hours’ notice.

Getting there

As Chateau Elan at The Vintage is located in a semi-remote area, there are no forms of public transport to get there. However, it is only 15 minutes off the Hunter Expressway and is easy to find. The resort has ample car spaces for parking.
