Villa Thalgo is located within the grounds of Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley. The treatments

The physical centrepiece of Villa Thalgo is the indoor swimming pool. An exquisite setting to relax in, the cathedral vaulted ceiling, classical columns and decor, and rows of French doors that open out into courtyards resplendent with gardenias give it a distinctive aura of style and elegance. The 17m x 8m x 1.4m pool is heated, and is used for relaxation.

For the special experience of a relaxing treatment massage by 72 underwater jets, there’s nothing quite like a Hydrotherapy Spa. Programmed to suit individual requirements, the jet massage allows increased circulation and strengthens muscle-tone while helping to eliminate toxins and relieve fluid retention, and facilitates spot reduction in affected areas. Essential oils are added to the water for therapeutic effects, alone or with essential oils.

The Affusion Shower is a unique, personalised shower that comprises eight pressure jets in all, three on each side of the body to massage and stimulate the upper, mid and lower body, and two overhead jets to either invigorate or calm the neck and shoulders.

You might also enjoy the Steam Room, which is an unexpected pleasure as it provides all the benefits of a sauna without the discomfort. As the steam room operates at lower temperatures than a sauna, the steam assists with respiratory problems and also hydrates the skin due to the humidity. Aromatherapy oils can be incorporated into the steam room to provide additional benefits.

Villa Thalgo has eight treatment rooms and three wet rooms where you can have either Swedish, Aromatherapy, Remedial, Hot Stone Therapy or Indian head massage by a trained masseuse for relaxing and de-stressing.

The food

Enjoy the delights of a healthy and satisfying luncheon in the Villa Thalgo Relaxation Room. Natural wholesome and seasonal produce is carefully prepared and exquisitely presented. Dietary recommendations and exclusions are catered for. Choose from a range of exotic salads, fresh fruits and juices when you dine buffet style.

High Tea is available Friday to Sunday as is an a la carte menu that changes seasonally. Monday to Thursday food is offered as a pre order from a limited menu.

Getting there

By Car

The Hawkesbury region is an hour and half drive, 57 kms north west of Sydney, via the M2 Motorway, Old Windsor Road and Windsor Road. It is 30 minutes’ drive, 22kms north of Penrith via the Castlereagh or Londonderry Roads and an hour and half drive, 89kms, from Lithgow via Bells Line of Road.

By Train

Catch Sydney Trains Western Line to Richmond — about 1.5 hrs from Central Station.

By Bus

Public bus services operate from Windsor and Richmond rail stations.

By River Ferry

The Hawkesbury River has four free vehicular ferries linking roads and communities. These ferries are capable of taking bikes, cars, trucks and large vehicles. The ferries operate every day of the year around the clock except when closed for maintenance or in times of flood.
