Sun - blue t-shirt

The colour of sun protection

As the summer sun invites you out to frolic on beaches, sporting fields and in parks protecting yourself against the damaging effects of ultraviolet (UV) light becomes ever more important. New research has shown that when it comes to protecting yourself against ultraviolet damage, some colours are more effective than others. These researchers dyed cotton fabrics in a wide range of red, blue and yellow shades and measured their ability to absorb ultraviolet light. Firstly they found that fabrics with darker or more intense colours tended to have better ultraviolet absorption. Deep blue shades offered the best absorption while yellow shades offered the least. The researchers suggested that clothing brands could use this information when designing sun-protective clothing. In the meantime though, out goes the canary yellow t-shirt and on goes the dark blue when it comes to UV protection this summer.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
