Cleaning

The smell of virtue

We talk about “dirty acts” but is this just a linguistic phenomenon or do we actually associate dirtiness with bad behaviour and cleanliness with good behaviour? More than this, could cleanliness promote good or virtuous behaviour? Researchers conducted two experiments to see how being in a clean smelling room, as opposed to a room with no special smell, affected behaviour. They found in the first experiment that people gave significantly more money to other people when they were in a clean room. In the second experiment people in a clean smelling room showed a greater willingness to volunteer to help charity and to donate money to the cause. The effect of cleanliness seemed to be unconscious as participants did not report an awareness of scent impacting behaviour. So smells stimulate behaviours only thought to be related to cleanliness in a symbolic way. It’s true; cleanliness is next to Godliness.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
