High-performance, clean beauty
Discover clean beauty that performs. From Mitzi Mascara to Glory Oil, Eco by Sonya proves natural can be powerful and luxurious.
When it comes to beauty products, I have a very short list of favourites. I’m picky — if it’s going on my face, it better be clean, kind and effective. I don’t wear much make-up daily. I opt for a natural glow as much as possible but, because I love my eyes, I choose to accentuate them with mascara every day. I recently broke my own rules and grabbed a non-clean mascara, instantly regretting it. My eyes were itchy and watery within hours, and the heavy, overly dramatic finish felt more nightclub than school run. Lesson learned.
That’s why I was excited to try Mitzi Mascara from Eco by Sonya. Even before opening the tube, the brand’s credentials gave me confidence: organic, vegan, cruelty-free and ophthalmological tested. The promise was big — lift, curl and define without clumps or irritation — and, from the first swipe, it delivered. The brush separates each lash, coating them evenly without weighing them down. It’s dramatic enough to make my eyes pop, but light enough to feel like I’m wearing nothing at all. No heaviness, no smudging, no flaking and, most importantly, no irritation. It stays fresh through everything from school drop-offs to meetings, and I don’t have to think about it again until I wash it off at night. Plus, its gold container makes me feel oh-so glam.
While mascara has always been my desert-island product, skincare is a newer love I’ve embraced more deeply since postpartum and the early shifts of perimenopause. My skin has different needs now: hydration, nourishment and a healthy glow matter more than they ever did. Eco by Sonya’s Glory Oil ticks every one of those boxes
Formulated with organic pumpkin seed oil, inca inchi oil and acai fruit oil, Glory Oil is rich in omegas and antioxidants that help restore, protect and revitalise. On the skin, it’s silky smooth, even a little slimy in the best possible way. I love how it sinks in beautifully without leaving a greasy film. The hydration is instant, creating that dewy, lit-from-within look. This multi-award-winning oil is suitable for al skin types and can be used on scars, fine lines, skin irritations and problematic skin.
I’m also hooked on Eco by Sonya’s Super Citrus Cleanser. The texture feels fresh and cooling with clean, powerful ingredients. Aloe vera soothes and calms. Lemongrass contains antibacterial properties for a clear, even glow. Australian finger lime exfoliates and increases collagen production. It’s no wonder I’m using this product day and night. It removes sunscreen, mascara and the day’s build-up in one thorough cleanse that doesn’t leave my skin dry and tight.
Over the years, I’ve tried enough “natural” products to know that clean doesn’t always mean effective. But Eco by Sonya proves you can have both without compromise. The mascara holds its own against any high-end formula I’ve used, the oil rivals the glow of far pricier serums and the cleanser is every bit as thorough as the ones I used to buy from big-name beauty counters.
What makes that even more satisfying is knowing these products come from a genuine, homegrown Australian brand. Eco by Sonya’s clean beauty ethos is the heartbeat of everything they do. Founder Sonya Driver began the business from her Gold Coast kitchen after a series of life-changing events, transforming personal hardship into a passion for natural, ethical products. Her drive to create truly safe formulas began when her sister needed a tanning solution that wouldn’t harm her skin, and it’s grown into a company with the highest ingredients standards, environmental care and ethical production.
Eco by Sonya’s sustainability approach and ethics show up in the details. The packaging is made from endlessly recyclable glass, sugar cane plastic or post-consumer recycled materials. The brand has a proudly plastic-free warehouse and asks suppliers to ship without it. Through their reforestation program, every purchase helps regenerate a section of forest. The company’s non-profi t foundation, Miracle Made, funds projects that range from supporting homeless communities locally to creating safe havens for children overseas.
This is beauty that feels as good as it looks.
