Blepharitis

Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelids that secretes a crust like glue that adheres the eyes shut during sleep.

Causes: eye infection, eye strain, poor living conditions and hygiene, poor nutrition and immunosuppression.

Symptoms: redness, itching, burning, swelling of eyelids, loss of eyelashes, tearing and sensitivity to light.

Who to consult: Dietician, GP, herbalist, naturopath, optician, optometrist, ophthalmologist.
