Controlling your Spring hayfever and sinus

Coping with sinus, allergies and spingThose of you who suffer from sinus and allergy do not need to be told how it can ruin your day. Now that spring has arrived and there is pollen in the air lots of us who have hayfever or allergies are beginning to suffer.

The answer is not always filling yourself up with drugs to stop that runny nose, red eyes, sinus and stuffy head feeling. Along with it we also have sore cheeks and headaches which means you could have sinus. There are a number of natural remedies that you can take under the care of a natural practitioner who will know which ones are right for you.

However remember, it will take time to sort out your allergies or sinus. How many years have you had sinus problems? To be fair you can’t expect it to disappear overnight. It needs to be worked on but the sooner you start the sooner it will be over and yes it can happen that your sinus is so much under control that you hardly notice when spring comes round.

Vitamin C in high doses is important but be careful as this vitamin in excess can cause diarrhea. Bioflavonoids, rutin, hesperidin, citrin, garlic, Vitamin A (take care wit this vitamin as in large doses it can also be toxic). Honey is good, Calcium lactate, Bee Pollen (care here if you have allergy to bees), Brewer’s yeast which is high in Vitamin B which fights infection so a vitamin B complex may be a good idea, Vitamin E and Zinc and of course B6 on its own which is a natural antihistamine,.

Now this is quite a long list which is why you need a natural therapist to tell you exactly which to take and in which combinations and Mg’s to suit your specific case.

Why such a long list? How long did it take you to get sick? You are fighting low immunity with regard to sinus and any low immunity problem is not easy to eradicate. It could take up to six months or even a little more to get this under control and get it to stay under control. The beauty of all this is that you become informed as to what to do about your health so in future if you do have sinus flare ups you know exactly which supplements you need to take. However the idea is to have it under control to the extent that it does not cause disruption to your life. Knowing what to do means you have taken responsibility for your own health which is a very important move.

Juices that are good to drink are lemon, black currant, orange, pineapple, elderberries, carrot, beet, tomato (however watch the citrus fruits if you have aches and pains), green pepper or watercress added in small doses to vegetable juice of onion and garlic juice. Herbs that aid in sinus are rose hips, golden seal, chamomile, peppermint, lemon grass, slippery elm, ginger and sage. You can often buy them as a tea. I warn you though that some of them just don’t taste nice however they are so good for your health it’s wise to just hold your nose and drink them if you don’t like the taste. Alternatively you can sweeten them with honey. Which is better – a few minutes of a horrible tasting drink or the suffering of sinus?
