Screen Junkies Set Yourself a Big

I love the AA expression “trying is dying”… re-applied to weight-loss, it means, you’ve realized what you need to do but you’re lost without a start somewhere in between knowing and doing. This is why the Dark Mistress launched in and rode her bike 50Km last weekend…
This is about natural weight-loss after all – physical fitness has to come in to it somewhere.
So although the Dark Mistress has spent the last decade hunched over a keyboard, she turned up at North Sydney for the Annual Spring Ride and managed to hit the Olympic Stadium two and a half hours later. We wonder why sudden bursts of fitness activity are not recommended in weight-loss programs – moderate pappy bursts of fitness activity simply just don’t get the attention.
The physical being needs a moderate fitness build-up, but if the emotional being needs ego-strokes for the sacrifices it is making then why not roll with that? Here are the benefits of a bad exercise program…
5 Reasons to Ignore the Experts and go FAST for Fitness
1) Attention. You don’t want to post “I did a nice 20min weight-loss walk” on FaceBook do you? Put up the 50Km bike ride and see the comments roll in.
2) Drama. You’ll need it to convince yourself of the importance of the weight-loss task at hand – so start with Mt Everest.
3) Self-Importance. Weight-loss really IS all about you you know – it really is.
4) Results. If you’ve been slumped in your office chair for 60 hours a week, you’ll get sweaty and exhausted very quickly – and that’s when the improvements start.
5) If you train you know what you’re in for – and if you’re out of shape, then you’d rather not.
It’s the weekend again now – time to get stuck in.
Yours,
The Dark Mistress
