Poison habits make us ill

Poisons enter our bodies many different waysPoisonous substances are around us daily and often we use them as part of our lifestyle without even really thinking. However, the poison may have been entering our system for so long it could start to catch up with us and make us ill. There are also many poisons that we are not aware of and are disguised. Ultimately, though, they could lead to serious health problems like diabetes, cancer, heart disease and even Alzheimer’s.

Some of these poisons are unthinkingly put in by people anxious to make some money. Other poisons are put in intentionally to get you addicted in some way to buy the product. Which of these motives are true is really of no consequence because the outcome is the same – people get sick. Sometimes poisonous ingredients are put in because it is cheaper to do so and to sell the product for the same amount thereby making a bigger profit. Long names and numbers are used to confuse customers and to make people think the products are healthier.

Toothpaste could be counted as a poison because fluoride is a toxin. In the past it has been used to poison rats and now we are swallowing it. It has a record of affecting the metabolism with claims to poison everything from the thyroid to being carcinogenic. Notice I said it is a poison if swallowed. Please spit your toothpaste out if you are going to use fluoride. Also there are tests that show it does not really have as much an impact on the cavities as people thought in the past. Always check the warning labels on everything you buy and if you are not sure what you are reading then perhaps don’t buy the product. I have heard instances where even some of these gels for dentures have made people ill as the person was sensitive to the ingredients in the gel and for them it was a poison.

Another product we need to keep in mind when speaking of poisonous substances for the body is corn products – gluten, syrups, corn oil and flour. Much of the corn we eat has been genetically modified, treated with certain substances and some even generate their own pesticide as a protection from insects. That is the poison you would be putting into your system. If it does that in the plant what is it doing in your body? Remember also that soy products are being genetically modified so be careful to put this on your poison list and at the same time always look for labels that say non GMO.

Another product that some people may not be aware of is cow’s milk. Still today some of my clients come with the misconception that milk is good for you. Milk has not been good for you for years. Apart from the misleading claims made about milk cow’s milk does not do much to help with your bones. Nowadays it is filled with many poisonous chemicals, synthetic vitamins and animal protein. Your body will not absorb calcium properly unless it is mixed with vitamin D. The vitamin D in milk is synthetically made and doesn’t have the qualities to help your body absorb it properly. Plants have more natural calcium and higher absorption rates. Instead of milk try some bok choy, spinach and broccoli.

These are just a few of the products that have the potential to poison our body and make us ill. There are others such as fake bottled water and bottles that are reused, foods containing MSG, chemicals in ice cream, sugar substitutes, high fructose drinks, shampoos with lauryl sulphate and of course some of the electrical devices such as computers and mobile phones. Obviously we cannot become a hermit or paranoid and run from the world, so the idea is to practide the middle way of using what you need to, as safely as you can and not using harmful substances more than necessary. Hopefully by the time our children and grandchildren are grown the world will have changed enough, by us refusing to accept the poisons and our upcoming brainy kids will find new, healthier ways to live, grow our food and people will develop a new found respect for the planet.
