Yoga & the Truth…

“When one experiences truth, the madness of finding fault with others disappears”.

Some yoga wisdom from Goenka.

Goenka is a great teacher.  I have studied occasionally at the Vipassna yoga centre in the Blue Mountains.  I miss Goenka when I am not doing Vipassna.

The above makes perfect sense to me, but I can only conclude that I have not encountered the truth in my yoga practice.   There remains in me the need to think internally in a manner that is needling, or downright critical of others.  What is this impulse?  When I think about it, I know that negativity towards other human beings is essentially my own mask for inadequacy.  “If I am this and they are that, then I can only feel good about being this if I become critical of them being that”.  And the mind of course, LOVES its own games.

Restaurant reviewers find it easier to travel incognito, and so do I. I travel a lot for work and use this as an excuse check out yoga classes, yoga courses and yoga colleges around my home country, Australia. In this yoga blog, I refer to yoga centres in Sydney. I am not actually a yoga teacher, just a passionate yoga student.

I have practised yoga in the US and have done yoga courses in India but have no bias towards any yoga style. Actually, maybe I am biased to a yoga style, or at least certain methods of education applied in yoga courses, but I’ll leave it to you to find out what that is. My mission? I just want people to think a little deeper about yoga.
