Eyes – conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is inflammation of the conjunctiva, which results in pus-filled membranes adhering the eyelids shut during sleep.

Contributing factors: infection, injury to the eye, allergies and exposure to irritants (e.g. fumes, chlorine, chemicals). If caused by a viral infection, conjunctivitis is highly contagious.

Who to consult: Dietician, GP, herbalist, naturopath, optician, optometrist, ophthalmologist.
