Eyes – dry eyes

Dry eyes occur when there is insufficient production of tears in the tear ducts to keep the eyes moist.

Causes: wearing contact lenses, lack of Vitamin A, old age, drugs (e.g. antihistamines, decongestants, anti-hypertensives).

Symptoms: burning and irritation.

Who to consult: Dietician, GP, herbalist, naturopath, optician, optometrist, ophthalmologist.
