Unintentional weight loss can result from a number of conditions (see below). There are many implications of weight loss include nutrition deficiencies and malnutrition. Young children and the aging population are especially at risk of malnutrition.

Causes: vomiting, loss of appetite, malabsorption issues, parasites, cancer, chemotherapy, eating disorder, AIDS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, stress, trauma and surgery.

Who to consult: Dietician, gastroenterologist, GP, herbalist, homoeopath, naturopath, psychologist.
