Woman driving in her car

Are you ready to make a hairpin turn?

With the fresh spring sun warming our skin and the winds clearing our homes and minds, my journal reflection for November is to set a hairpin turn challenge.

Which of your beliefs, actions or patterns do you feel may require a hairpin turn? A turn so complete that you end up following a radically different route? It may be something you have held on to for months, years or even a lifetime.

Selecting only one belief, action or pattern, think about how you can set an intention to begin in a new direction. Wildy new — a 180-degree turn. Only, you will never go back to your previous path.

Some areas of life you may wish to consider need a hairpin turn include:

  • Your health and fitness: enjoying your life.
  • Your attitude: remembering your fun younger attitudes.
  • Your language: using pretty words and uplifting language.
  • Your facial language: smiling more.
  • Your posture: sitting up straight.

A hairpin turn requires us to slow down and carefully navigate a narrow bend. We need to concentrate as we do so and precisely position ourselves onto a new road. It may seem as though it’s the direction you just came from; that can be good — you can begin back at the beginning. But, once you’ve made the turn, your new road may veer into any kind of new direction.

What belief, action, behaviour or pattern are you ready to change with a hairpin turn ?
